I love searching around the house for new things to add a personal touch to a space. I have a couple of ideas that I will be sharing with you in future posts, but today I wanted to talk about two different textures and how you can use them in your home for added interest and personality.
The texture is one of my favorite ways to add an element of surprise into a room without having to spend a ton on expensive decor. There’s something about going up to a shelf or table and feeling the difference between two items that really adds interest.
I am always on the lookout for interesting baskets which can serve as containers or vases for flowers or plants, but what most people don’t realize is that you can also use baskets to bring added texture into a room. I love this example of the moss-covered basket at the base of this wine bottle.
It looks beautiful, but it’s also functional which is my favorite part!
I first started collecting hardware when I decided to purchase some new knobs for my kitchen cabinets. As I was shopping around, I couldn’t believe how many different options there were and how pricey they are without actually being made out of expensive materials.
So, if you are looking for an easy DIY project or something inexpensive to add interest, head over to your local home improvement store and pick up a few pieces in whatever color suits your fancy! You don’t have to be an expert to get a great effect and you can feel free to mix in some modern pieces with aged styles. Are you looking for office designers?
